Course Description

Do you want to learn how to create beautiful artwork using Encaustic and other Media?

'Paper Collage and Encaustic - A Tree Line' is a course geared towards building a hands-on understanding of Encaustic, with a project to complete from start to finish using Paper Collage, Encaustic Medium, Pigment Sticks and PanPastel.

Using a flat canvas board, primed with Encaustic Gesso as your substrate, you will begin building structural layers by adding Paper Collage, Encaustic Medium, Pigment Sticks and PanPastels. I will explain each product that we use and how to use them with Encaustic.

We will talk about Composition, Horizon Lines and simple ways to create a Tree Line.

This is a great introduction for those wanting to learn about Encaustic, for inspiration or new ideas on how to work with Mixed Media.

Mixed Media Artist with a focus on Encaustic. Encaustic is the most beautiful of all artists' medium. Because of it’s nature, however, you have to be willing to relinquish some element of control. The wax has a mind of it’s own, we can only learn to guide and manipulate it. Whether you’re just starting out with encaustic painting or have been painting with this medium for years, my hope is that you pass on what you have learned. As our collective knowledge of this exciting medium expands, we all become its gurus and heralds.
