Course Description

Do you want to learn how to create beautiful artwork using Encaustic and other Media?

'Encaustic and Rayon Surf Paper - A Tea Cup and Saucer' is an online class with a project to complete from start to finish using Encaustic Medium and Paint, Rayon Surf Paper and other Media.

Using an Encausticbord or rigid board of your choice we will begin building structural layers with Encaustic Medium and Paint. I will introduce you to Rayon Surf Paper, a perfect paper for use with Encaustic. We will also be using PanPastel, Gelatos, Permanent Pens and Coloring Pencils. I will explain each product that we use and how to use them.

This is a great introduction for those wanting to learn about Encaustic, for inspiration or new ideas on how to work with Mixed Media.

Mixed Media Artist with a focus on Encaustic. Encaustic is the most beautiful of all artists' medium. Because of it’s nature, however, you have to be willing to relinquish some element of control. The wax has a mind of it’s own, we can only learn to guide and manipulate it. Whether you’re just starting out with encaustic painting or have been painting with this medium for years, my hope is that you pass on what you have learned. As our collective knowledge of this exciting medium expands, we all become its gurus and heralds.
